According to findings published in the British Journal of Ophthalmology, Omega-3 fats found in fish like mackerel, sardines, trout, cod and salmon appear to slow and even halt the progress of both early and late stage macular degeneration (AMD). Research found that omega 3 oils cut the risk of getting AMD by a third as well as benefiting patients who already have the disease.
